Leadership

Gambit's partners Megan Clasen and Patrick McHugh collectively have over 25 years of experience and will be deeply involved in your campaign from launch day to Election Day. This is the leadership of Gambit Strategies who you will interface with on a regular basis and who lead our team of media planners, buyers, ad operations experts, creative editors, and producers who will be working to make your campaigns a success.

    Megan has been working in digital advertising for over 10 years, from the largest brand advertisers in the country to multiple presidential campaigns, and all the way up and down the ballot. Most recently, she was a senior paid media advisor to Joe Biden’s campaign, leading their digital advertising work and executing the largest digital ads program ever run by a Democratic campaign.

    Prior to that, she led JB Pritzker’s digital efforts in his successful campaign for governor in Illinois, which Politico called “The Best Campaign Money Can Buy” and recognized as the “Best Online Advertising Campaign” at the 2019 Reed Awards. Megan started her digital advertising career at agencies in New York City, spending five years working with brands such as Samsung and AT&T, before taking a lead role on Hillary for America’s digital advertising team in 2015. Megan was also named one of the “Top Women in Digital Marketing” at the 2019 Digital Megaphone Awards.

    Patrick has over 15 years of experience working on campaigns at all levels of the ballot. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of Priorities USA, the leading super PAC supporting President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, where he spearheaded the largest independent effort to win the White House.

    During the critical 2020 and 2018 election cycles, he led and championed Priorities USA’s innovative digital persuasion and mobilization programs that were the largest of any outside group in both parties since 2016. Under Patrick’s leadership, Priorities ran digital advertising programs in nearly 70 U.S. House, Senate, gubernatorial, and state legislative races, helping to win the majority in the House, flipping critical US Senate seats, and taking back the governors’ mansions in several states.

    Prior to leading Priorities USA, Patrick held senior roles at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), the Democratic National Committee (DNC), as well as several campaigns.


  • Senior Vice President, Creative

    For Germain, digital-first political ads bridge the gaps between traditional TV, targeted messaging, and organic video. Germain has over six years of experience producing award-winning creative for campaigns and organizations. In 2020, his ads for the Democratic Party of Georgia and Voto Latino won two Reed Awards, in addition to winning a Reed Award for Best Use of Video on Social Platform for his "Trump Record" ad for Jacky Rosen in 2019. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Campaigns and Elections, and on MSNBC and CNN. Previously, he served as the Director of Video for Rising Tide Interactive where he worked with Amy for America to raise over five million dollars for her presidential campaign, The Democratic Party of Georgia to elect Senators Warnock and Ossoff, and Voto Latino to register over half a million new Latinx voters. Additionally, he worked with campaigns and organizations such as Mark Warner for Senate, Steve Bullock for Montana, and the National Democratic Redistricting Committee. Prior to working with RTI, Germain wrote, produced, and directed TV ads for Smoothie King, Popeyes, and Einstein Bros. Bagels and more.


  • Senior Vice President, Media

    Taylor leads Gambit Strategies’ media operation, including media planning and buying, programmatic and platform buying, ad operations, and reporting. She brings a strong background in both digital and television advertising for progressive candidates, campaigns, and organizations and has managed everything from creative to production to media. Prior to joining Gambit, she was a senior strategist at GMMB and managed the paid media team at Mothership Strategies, working with Democratic candidates up and down the ballot from the Presidency all the way to state legislature races. Her team was named Digital Strategy Team of the Year at the 2018 Pollie Awards. She also previously worked at Dixon / Davis Media Group, supporting the paid media operations of some of the most competitive races in the country.


  • Vice President, Client Strategy

    Monica has over seven years of experience working in campaigns and elections. Most recently, she served as the Digital Director for Think Big Illinois and Vote Yes For Fairness, where she ran a multi-million dollar statewide digital program to pass a graduated income tax system and other progressive policies in Illinois. In 2018, Monica worked on JB Pritzker's successful campaign for Governor of Illinois, where she managed social media and digital creative for what was called "The Best Online Advertising Campaign" at the 2019 Reed Awards. Prior to moving to Chicago, Monica worked at Priorities USA Action during the 2016 cycle, where she helped execute the largest digital program in electoral history. She got her start in politics at New Blue Interactive, working to fundraise and list-build for Democratic campaigns and causes.


  • Creative Director

    Jac has over five years of experience creating compelling content for campaigns and organizations. At Gambit Strategies, she has led creative production for Governor JB Pritzker’s successful re-election, Priorities USA’s largest mobilization branding project, and numerous IEs successfully working up and down the ballot. Prior to Gambit, she served as a senior graphic designer at Rising Tide Interactive through multiple election cycles. She was the lead on Amy for America’s fundraising and mobilization campaign, Jeanne Shaheen’s GOTV digital campaign and a Giffords ad set that won a 2020 Pollie for Best Digital Creative (Ballot Initiative). Outside of politics, she has designed for medical campuses, military museums and woodtype collections.


  • Ad Ops Manager

    Maggie has over 8 years of experience working in digital advertising. She has a strong background in building, training, and leading ad ops teams. She leads ad operations, programmatic buying, and reporting at Gambit Strategies. Most recently, she was a Senior Associate of Ad Operations and Reporting at Priorities USA, supporting the presidential race and senate races across the country and managing over $80 million in ad spend. She got started in politics at the Warren for President campaign as a Lead Ad Operations Specialist and assisted in raising over $40 million from ads for the campaign.

  • COO

    Margeaux has nearly 10 years of experience working on campaigns and elections. She leads day-to-day operations and human resources at Gambit Strategies. Previously, she's led operations teams at the Democratic Governors Association and Priorities USA. She got her start in politics on Hillary for America's digital advertising team and Bully Pulpit Interactive's client and digital strategy team.
