Senior Digital Media Planner
Gambit Strategies is looking for an experienced senior digital media planner to join our team! Gambit Strategies is a digital firm that specializes in persuading and mobilizing voters for Democratic campaigns and organizations. We’ve overseen the largest and most impactful digital programs in the Democratic Party from the State House to the White House.
Who you are
You are an experienced media planner who knows how critical it is to set up a persuasion campaign for success in the planning stage, and have a strong POV on the digital landscape. You can develop relationships with ad vendors to ensure we receive the best inventory and deliver in full. You successfully balance the need to move quickly with the need to have a strong QA process and avoid errors. You have a passion for the details and can put together a media plan that balances efficiency and strong targeting with premium creative placements.
Job Responsibilities
Lead media planning creation and execution based on client objectives and guidance from the account team and senior leadership, and if necessary engage directly with clients on media related strategy
Expertly review reporting data with a close eye for detail and draft smart written analysis and key optimization recommendations for client-facing reports
Create and maintain relationships with a variety of vendors and data providers, frequently communicating with them to ensure the best possible inventory and rates for our buys
Assist in the development and training of new and junior staff
Provide an active voice in developing and improving media process and execution, and communicate needs to senior team
Work both internally and externally to ensure programs launch on time with 100% accuracy of targeting and budgets
Monitor campaign pacing to ensure budgets are delivering as planned, working with the ad operations team to ensure in-flight optimizations are being made regularly
Recommend and implement changes to media plans based on performance data and shifting campaign priorities
Develop and pull audience profiles and counts from the voter file, understanding parameters and strategically refining the audiences as necessary to meet targeting and budget goals
When necessary, negotiate added value from vendors
Qualifications
At least 3+ years of experience in a media planning role, having negotiated and planned media buys that have a mix of CTV, social media, OLV, and search inventory
Demonstrated experience with programmatic advertising with a clear point of view on how it fits into the media landscape. Be able to recommend what we run through programmatic versus a direct deal
Understand the types of targeting available with each partner / platform and have a strong POV on the most precise, efficient way to reach audiences within the specific context of each campaign
Be up to date on industry trends, best practices, and new offerings – especially in the political space
Very strong attention to detail and ability to follow a strict QA process, even when you are very busy
Strong proficiency with Google Sheets and Excel, including pivot tables and formulas
Thrive in a team environment and work well collaborating with others
Ability to delegate and ensure the accuracy of tasks completed by junior media planners
Excels in a fast-paced environment and can handle multi-tasking several projects with tight timelines at once, ensuring tasks and emails don’t fall through the cracks

This position will be fully remote. Due to the nature of political work, there will be expected evening and weekend hours especially leading up to November 2026. This is a cycle position that will end on November 30, 2026, with the possibility of full time based on performance and need. The salary range for the position is between $80,000 and $105,000, commensurate with experience. Gambit Strategies also offers company paid healthcare, vision, and dental insurance as well as a 3% employer contribution to a 401k plan.
